Hen & Chickens is in the centre of Ludlow with a gated car park for guests . It’s just a short walk to the local attractions including the castle, market, local bars and restaurants or one of the many wonderful walks on our doorstep. Despite our central position, the rooms are quiet and peaceful with quality bedding and comfortable beds to ensure a good nights sleep.

We have 5 en-suite rooms, all with super kingsize beds, or set as twin rooms if you prefer.
3 of our rooms are within the main house, which is a characterful Grade II listed Georgian townhouse. Formerly an Inn, the name Hen and Chickens refers to the different size jugs used to sell beer here.
2 further rooms are within the cottage at the rear of the house. This is particularly popular with groups of couples and families.
Two of our guest rooms are on the ground floor and one also has a large wetroom ensuite and level access to the breakfast room.
Breakfast with a wide selection of cereals, fruit, breads, yoghurts, etc as well as traditional cooked options featuring local produce including the famous Ludlow sausages.

Now recognised as a Masterpiece of the School of Naturalistic Landscape and designated as a Grade I listed landscape by English Heritage, this magical and exhilarating landscape had a new lease of life with a multi-million pound restoration project enabling it to reopen to visitors in 1993. Overgrown but never fully forgotten, pathways were cleared, gullies reopened and handrails reinstalled to allow visitors to enjoy the spectacular views and surprises that The Follies reveals around every corner.
